e-Furniture: The Portal of the Capital do Móvel

The furniture sector, one of the most prominent in Paços de Ferreira and Portugal, shows the lack of international business promotion and use of the digital economy in the advertising and sale processes that condition the expansion of the business fabric. With this in mind, the AEPF designed the multilingual e-Furniture digital portal – in Portuguese, English and French – to publicize the municipality’s offer (companies, products, services, segments, location, contacts) and stimulate the network of international cooperation contacts between companies and international institutions.

e-Furniture is integrated in the AEPF website, where it is possible to combine the promotion of the offer and promote fairs and exhibitions of relevant interest to the various segments and the organization of collective actions for the participation of companies in these international events. It also allows you to know the international sector forums, business opportunities and / or support lines for internationalization and financing of activities.

So, if a national or international entity organizes a business mission, fair, congress, or others, or even if it’s aware of a business opportunity for furniture companies (eg international public tenders), it may post them on the portal. There will also be a commercial promotion aspect that acts as a platform for concentrating the furniture offer, extended to other sectors, promoting regional clustering.

This is the first professional platform that aggregates the offer of furniture produced in Paços de Ferreira and bordering councils. Production and trade are concentrated but supply and information are still scarce and very fragmented. e-Furniture will fill this gap as any furniture company, producer or trader can use it to advertise their products and communicate with markets on a global scale. The Portal has innovative and dynamic features that intuitively induce interconnections to facilitate the search for opportunities.
